Amanda + Cody are one of the loveliest, most adventurous and badass couple I’ve had the pleasure of capturing. They eloped in New York, celebrated a reception with friends and family in Omaha and we both connected because we would be in southern Iceland the same time during late September as they honeymooned around the country for 2 weeks. I can’t thank these two enough for giving me most of the day as they hiked to Svartifoss in Vatnajökull National Park in their wedding gowns, explored in a Jökulsárlón and Black Diamond Beach and then braving the cold and wind in Höfn at Vestrahorn mountain on the Stokksnes peninsula. You truly have to have a love for the earth and adventure to do portraits in Iceland but braving the elements are so worth it. As you can see, it was an unusually sunny week in Iceland. After 3 trips to Iceland, I’ve never seen it so sunny and so warm. Often at times, i took my coat off and felt no wind at all. So strange to feel Iceland that way.
I can’t wait to photograph here again soon this April!
